NOTE: Due to Covid-19, we were unable to have an in-person SongFest in 2020. Instead, our incredible faculty members and team of administrators pulled together to create a beautiful series of lectures and presentations for all to view virtually. There was no official 2020 program book, however, each session’s event page can be accessed via the links below. It is our hope to have a digital archive up and running soon, featuring our 2020 online content.

SongFest 2020 Online: Auf den Airwaves zu singen was a series of virtual events celebrating the incredible array of talent that we bring together every summer in Los Angeles. While it is difficult to remotely deliver live coaching events for our students that reflect the true collaborative nature of our work, we can deliver on the depth of knowledge that our world-class faculty present during their time with us every summer. SongFest 2020 online was made up of a daily series of lectures, conversations, and interviews by the many scholars, performers, composers, and teachers who would have gathered in-person in Los Angeles. Thanks to the support from our wonderful faculty and staff, for the first time, SongFest was able to be experienced by anyone, at any time, in the comfort of their own home!

Auf den Airwaves zu singen debuted on May 26, 2020 with a Lecture by Graham Johnson delivered from his home in London on his renowned SONGMAKERS’ ALMANAC programs. Sessions were released daily and remained available until August 25, 2020. (During this period, viewers could watch any session at any time after its scheduled release date.)
