Announcing the new
SongFest Recital Fellowship

The perfect retreat to create your new recital

Have a great idea for a recital, but need a safe, beautiful, free space to bring it to life and try out new ideas under the guidance of some of the best artists and teachers working internationally today?

SongFest is thrilled to announce a unique new program for two singers and pianists to prepare a recital, the full fellowship Recital Fellows program.

Who should apply

Geared towards the highest level song singers and pianists with interest in innovative recital programming, the SongFest Recital Fellows program offers an unparalleled intensive retreat for concert singers and pianists.

World class faculty & facilities TOTALLY FREE

Money is hard to come by. Especially in the recital world. We understand, and we have created this program so you don't have to worry about it for a few weeks. Each singer and pianist will receive a full fellowship. There will be no charge for tuition, a private room in the state of the art Colburn dorms, or three meals a day in the fabulous Colburn Cafe. The only thing you will have to worry about is how to make the recital of your dreams.

A shorter intensive
for busy professionals

You want an artistic recharge, but never have the time. You have kids. You have gigs. You can't take that much time off from work. Now you can: seeking to provide singers and pianists with busy professional schedules an alternative to a six week/full summer program, the SongFest Fellowship program is offered as two separate 2 week intensives:

1st session: June 2 - 15
2nd Session: June 18 - June 30

Achieve your vision
with help from the best

Fellows will submit the first draft of a concert program that they have programmed, and begin a discussion with an assigned mentor from our distinguished faculty about the most effective programming to achieve their vision. Fellows will then work several times per week in private coachings with their assigned mentor to guide them to dynamic full realization.

At the end of the two week session, performers will share their work in a public performance of their recital.

SongFest administration will attend these performances and at the end of SongFest, elect a winning duo who will be awarded a $1000 cash prize as well as a return engagement as the distinguished alumni recitalists the following summer at SongFest in Los Angeles. For this recital, travel, housing, and a $500 stipend will be provided for both pianist and singer.
